Echo Walk Support
Learn the basics and what to check if you have trouble creating a route or recording a walk.
Getting Started
- Allow location access while using Echo Walk.
- Choose a duration and route style in Route Settings.
- Optionally choose a destination or a place category.
- Create a route, select one of the suggestions, and start walking.
Location and Route Creation
Echo Walk needs location access to show your position, create routes, and measure an active walk. Route and place searches require network access. Available paths and estimated times come from Apple MapKit and may change.
If route creation fails:
- confirm that the device has a network connection;
- move to an area with mapped walking paths;
- choose a different duration or route style; and
- try Find 3 Other Routes after a short wait.
Active Walks
An active walk can be paused and resumed. Background location is used only while a walk is actively being tracked. If the app closes during a walk, Echo Walk restores the session in a paused state when possible.
Destinations and Pet Walks
Place information, opening hours, and pet access rules can change. A pet-friendly cafe result is a candidate found through map search, not a guarantee that pets are allowed indoors or without size restrictions. Check the venue's current website or contact it before visiting.
History and Data
Walk history, favorites, preferences, and diagnostics are stored on the device. Open Privacy and Data in the app to review storage information or delete all Echo Walk data. Removing the app also removes its local data unless an exported copy was saved elsewhere.
Before Contacting Support
When reporting a problem, include the Echo Walk version, iPhone model, iOS version, the action that failed, and whether retrying worked. Do not send your home address or precise route coordinates.
